With the food diary you will need to use it for every meal and snack. You should just list what foods you have eaten and how many calories. You don’t want to start off eating a lot of calories, because your body is not use to it. You will need to gradually add calories so that you are at the recommended amount. You will find that if you eat too much at once, you will only get stomach cramps and your body will begin to act as if you are overeating.
For you to gain the weight you will want to eat according to the food pyramid. You will also want to work very closely with a therapist. This will help you to emotionally look past the food and try to focus on the positive effects of your recovery. Your physician will tell you how to sustain a good eating pattern.
