A lot of people will say that they don’t want to gain weight, but muscle. This is a good theory; however, the two go hand in hand. You will need to focus on your diet, but you are going to have to burn off the calories that you are taking in. For those who are trying to gain muscle, you can’t just have a huge increase in food intake. You will just need to learn what to eat and what not to eat so that you don’t loss your muscle mass, but bulk up.
The first thing that you need to consider is protein. You will need to eat more protein in order to have the appropriate level of energy to pull this off. If you don’t eat enough protein, you will end up losing your muscle mass, because your body will start using stored protein. You will need to change your diet in order to have the protein intake and so that you can keep your current muscle mass, but also build on it. You’ll know if you are pushing yourself too hard because your metabolic rate will decrease and your strength or muscle growth will also greatly reduce.
It is recommended that you eat things like chicken breast, turkey breast, fish, red meat, dairy products, protein powers, and other foods of protein in order to have the proper amount of protein intake.
